With their Project about UV Light, three students from Sainte Sophie in Luxembourg, namely Nicoletta Daniela, Mika Schmit and Florian Maly won the third Award at the China Adolescents Science and Technology Innovation Contest (CASTIC).

These three young scientists, aged 14, 14 and 16, are this year’s laureates of the Grand-Duchy’s National Science Contest organized by the nonprofit association Young Scientists Luxembourg ( www.jonk-fuerscher.lu ) which rewarded them with the opportunity to meet other young scientists during CASTIC and exchange ideas and knowledge. Their reward was sponsored by the A. Weicker Foundation and accompanied by two students aged 24 and 23, both volunteers and studying at the University of Luxembourg.

The 28th China Adolescents Science and Technology Innovation Contest was organized in Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province this August. As the country's largest competition in science and engineering for pre-college students, the contest aims at raising the students’ interest in scientific research, cultivate the spirit of innovation and critical thinking and to promote scientific activities among elementary and secondary schools
