The 3,000,000th visitor at the Luxembourg pavilion
Ms Chen is the three millionth visitor of the Luxembourgish pavilion. On Friday July 30th 2010 she and Mr. Ren, who accompanied her, were both welcomed by the Consul General, Mr. Pierre Ferring and Mr. Thomas Rohdewald, the director of the pavilion.
As a gift, they received a book entitled “Luxembourg Expo Pavilion 2010 Shanghai”, by the architects Hermann and Valentiny. The couple, from Guizhou province, was invited to a glass of chilled Luxembourgish white wine which was well received due to the high summer temperatures of the past few days.
Both of them are students. He studies at Chengdu University while she attends Guizhou University. It’s the second time they come to the Expo as a part of an organized tour to the World Expo.
The Expo 2010 Shanghai opened its doors to visitors on May 1st and it will end on October 31st. Halfway through the Expo, the number of daily visitors, to the Luxembourgish pavilion, keeps on climbing, peeking at 40’000 these last few days. Since the beginning of the Expo, three million people have made their way to the Luxembourg Pavilion, which stays one of the most frequented pavilions of the World Expo, held this year here in Shanghai.
