Three Luxembourg concerts in China this autumn
We are pleased to announce three events from Luxembourg during this golden season:
Laurent Warnier & partner Xi Rachel Zhang (Joint Venture Percussion Duo) will perform on two dates. Laurent Warnier is a young marimba player from Luxembourg who is in Beijing to give performances and lectures at music schools, with attendance open to all: Tsinghua University (25th October at 7 pm) and Beijing University (9th November at 7 pm together with Pascal Meyer, also from Luxembourg on the piano).
Vibraphonist Pascal Schumacher is a well-known Luxembourg jazz musician, composer and percussionist. He and his ensemble of jazz musicians will be on tour in China, giving concerts in Hainan, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Beijing. On October 30th, the Pascal Schumacher Quartet will perform at Yugongyishan . The other members of the group are Franz Von Chossy (piano), Pol Belardi (bass), Jens Duppe (drums).
Around midnight on 8th November, at the first Dong Dong Music Festival & Convention for new music ( Yugongyishan ) Luxembourg pianist Francesco Tristano will be playing an electronic dance music set. Francesco is known as the best classical piano player of his generation in Luxembourg and has recorded several CDs with Deutsche Gramophon. But in Beijing he will show his other side, as a supremely creative exponent of dance music. We hope that many of you will be able to come to what will certainly be an energy filled evening.
