Message of the Embassy of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg on the occasion of the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II in Asia 3rd September 2025

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II in Asia, we honor the memory of the millions of men and women from China who lost their lives during the many years of brutal war.

We pay tribute to the courage of the people of China, who endured immense suffering and showed extraordinary resilience in defending their homeland and contributing to the end of the war.

Today, the United Nations Charter and the values enshrined therein are yet again threatened. We must all stand united against military aggression, the occupation of any sovereign country and violations of the principle of territorial integrity and of international law.
