André Mergenthaler China Tour, June 2026

The Embassy of Luxembourg in China and the Consulate General in Shanghai are pleased to announce the 2026 China Tour of the Luxembourgish composer, cellist and saxophonist André Mergenthaler. 

Besides composing music for ballet, theatre and film, André Mergenthaler is performing solo thanks to his ‘cello loops’. This technique allows him to build up tension with his violoncello, creating new visions of sound thereby directly interacting with his audience.

Following Mr. Mergenthaler’s first successful performances at the Luxembourg pavilion during the World Expo in Shanghai in 2010, we are pleased to welcome him back to China, where he will perform at the following venues:

• 15^th June – Shanghai, JZ Club
• 16^th June – Shanghai, House of Blues & Jazz
• 17^th June – Beijing, Blue Note
