Cargolux: New CEO appointed and deal with Henan finalized
On March 26th, the Board of Directors of Cargolux International Airlines S.A.,Luxembourg’s all cargo airline, appointed a new CEO. Following this appointment Cargolux also finalized the deal with Henan Civil Aviation and Investment Co., Ltd(HNCA) on April 23rd.
The new President & Chief Executive Officer, Dirk Reich, replaces Richard Forson who had assumed the role of interim CEO since August 3rd, 2012. Forson will continue to serve as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Dirk Reich will also assume the responsibilities of Senior Vice President Sales & Marketing while global executive search firm Spencer Stuart has been mandated to find a permanent replacement.
Among its worldwide activities, Cargolux operates 25 weekly flights to Greater China. After operating a series of charter flights, Cargolux Airlines International S.A. will soon inaugurate regular scheduled services between Luxembourg and Zhengzhou, the capital of Chinese province Henan. This marks the beginning of the partnership between Cargolux and its new shareholder HNCA that is now the owner of a 35% stake in Europe’s leading all-cargo carrier after the closing of the share transaction at the end of April.
