Statement by the EU embassies in China
A severe earthquake occurred in the North East of Japan on 11 March, at approximately 14:45 local time. As a result of the earthquake several nuclear facilities were damaged.
To keep abreast of the latest information on the nuclear situation we recommend monitoring developments through the media and statements issued by official authorities concerned. The EU embassies in China are also continuously monitoring the situation.
In the case that the People's Republic of China should also be affected you will be able to find travel and security advice by accessing the website of the Luxembourg Ministry of Foreign Affairs .
It is recommended to EU citizens in China to stay in touch with their respective embassy.
