EU-China Workshop on Legal Frameworks for Securities Investment Funds in Beijing
An EU-China Workshop on Legal Frameworks for Securities Investment Funds took place in Beijing in collaboration with the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC). The workshop was opened by Wang Lin, Director General, Department of Fund Supervision, CSRC, and Javier Arribas Quitana, Financial Counselor, EU Delegation to China. During the workshop, Jean-Marc Goy, Counsel for International Affairs, Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF), introduced the EU legal and regulatory framework for securities investment funds in Luxembourg. Introducing the EU legal framework for securities investment funds from an industrial perspective was Dr. Matthias Liermann, DWS Europe and Asia, together with Michele Bang, Deutsche Asset Management (Hong Kong). Approximately 45 participants from the China Securities Regulatory Commission, National People’s Congress and the State Council attended the workshop, which aimed to deepen understanding of the EU legal framework for securities investment funds and provide helpful information in considering improvements to China’s legal frameworks for securities investment funds.
