Luxembourg Plants Tree at China-EU Friendship Garden Opening Ceremony
A friendship garden featuring 28 gingko trees was opened to the public this week to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and the European Union.
The Luxembourg tree was planted by Counsellor Dörner, who represented the Grand-Duchy at the event.
The China-EU Friendship Garden, located on the campus of the Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU), covers over 400 square meters. The 28 ginkgo trees represent the 28 member states of the EU.
The opening ceremony was accompanied by the EU Languages and Cultures Festival, organised by the students and teachers of BFSU. The festival also featured a photo exhibition depicting key moments in China-EU relations over the past 40 years.
